ALL IN for Safe Schools 2026 Policy & Budget Agenda

The California Legislature is back in session after its spring recess, and the May budget revision is just weeks away. California’s children, especially those in immigrant families and LGBTQ+ youth, are facing one of the most challenging political environments in a generation.

This is the moment to be clear about what we’re asking for.

This week, ALL IN for Safe Schools is releasing its 2026 Policy & Budget Agenda.

These 16 priorities reflect our shared commitment to protect and strengthen safe, welcoming, and affirming schools and early learning environments across California.

The May budget revision will shape what California will ultimately protect and invest in for children this year. With federal funding under threat, and anti-immigrant and anti-LGBTQ+ policies accelerating at the national level, state action has never been more consequential. Our coalition is united behind these priorities, and we are asking legislators and the administration to act on them before the budget window closes.

For advocacy organizations: If your organization would like to formally sign on to any of these priorities or coordinate advocacy efforts ahead of the May revision, please contact Liza M. Davis at ldavis@childrenspartnership.org.

ALL IN for Safe Schools brings together California early childhood and K-12 education non-profit leaders to support educators and providers in creating welcoming, inclusive, and affirming learning environments—especially for children in immigrant families and LGBTQ+ students. The campaign’s core team includes The Children’s Partnership, Californians Together, Equality California, Teach Plus CA, Early Edge CA, ACLU of Southern California, and California School-Based Health Alliance.
