The Children’s Partnership is a team of smart, forward-thinking, collaborative advocates committed to child health equity. We are looking for individuals with diverse backgrounds and expertise who are dedicated to making a difference in the lives of marginalized children in California and across the nation.

We’re Hiring: Communications Manager
Are you passionate about using communications to help ensure California policymakers do all they can to support healthy, thriving children? Do you believe strong, clear, and community-centered storytelling can move policy, build power, and deepen impact—especially for communities most harmed by inequitable systems? Do you enjoy translating complex policy and research into compelling messages that resonate across audiences and partners? If so, we want you on our team.
The Children’s Partnership (TCP) is a California-based advocacy organization working to advance child health equity through bold policy, innovative research, and authentic community engagement. We believe that all children deserve a fair shot at a healthy, bright future—and we’re looking for a Communications Manager who’s ready to help bring our advocacy goals to life through thoughtful, impactful communications.
Here’s what the role is all about:
You’ll play a key role in shaping and executing TCP’s internal and external communications—ensuring our messages are consistent, compelling, and aligned with our advocacy priorities. Working across teams and with coalition partners, you’ll manage content development, newsletters and e-blasts, website updates, and coalition social media, while project managing communications deliverables from concept through completion. Throughout your work, you’ll bring sound judgment, strong organization, and a racial justice lens to advance TCP’s mission and values.
This position is ideal for someone who understands the role communications plays in advocacy and movement-building—and who is motivated by using storytelling, data, and strategy to drive real-world impact. You thrive in collaborative environments, can manage multiple priorities, and bring both creativity and structure to your work.
We are looking for someone who:
- Is outcome-oriented—focused on setting goals, tracking progress, and adjusting strategies to maximize impact.
- Writes and communicates with clarity and purpose, translating complex or technical information into accessible, engaging content for diverse audiences.
- Operates independently and with good judgment—knowing when to take initiative, when to ask for support, and when to course-correct.
- Approaches their work with an equity lens—considering who is most affected by policy choices and how communications can advance fairness and inclusion.
- Is organized, dependable, and detail-oriented, with experience managing projects from start to finish and meeting deadlines.
- Enjoys building relationships and working collaboratively with colleagues, coalition partners, and external vendors.
- Brings a demonstrated commitment to racial justice, community-centered advocacy, and cultural humility.
The Details:
This is a full-time position that may be based anywhere in California. The salary range is $70,000–$85,000, depending on experience and skill set.
