The California State Assembly passed legislation to help prevent and treat dental disease among a largely underserved population that currently goes without needed dental care. The bill, AB 1174, passed out of the Assembly with a vote count of 73-1 and now heads to the Senate.
In response to the action on the biil, Jenny Kattlove, Director of Strategic Health Initiatives at The Children’s Partnership said, “The resounding support received by the bill in the Assembly demonstrates that children’s dental health is a bipartisan issue in California. The Children’s Partnership remains committed to ensuring this important legislation to protect the health of our state’s most vulnerable children receives the same level of support in the Senate and is signed into law.”
