Showing up for our Undocumented Neighbors
Helping undocumented neighbors make safety plans is essential to protecting families and communities. These plans ensure children are cared for, legal help is accessible and household needs are met if someone is suddenly detained by ICE. Planning ahead reduces fear, prevents chaos and strengthens community resilience. You can visit the ALL IN for Safe Schools website for safety plans and other helpful resources.

If you have a person in your lift who’s undocumented and who trusts you…
…and who doesn’t yet have a plan or lawyer in case they are abducted by immigration enforcement…

You can help them make a plan.
Ask them to memorize your phone number and also Share your contact info with their closest family.

Ask them to make sure someone they trust has a copy of their:
- ID or passport
(foreign or domestic) - A-Number
(the “A-Number” is assigned by Homeland Security; not everyone has one)
Offer to help them get connected to a lawyer now.

Make a plan to help search for them and connect with a lawyer if they are detained.
Help protect their children by walking them through trusted resources, like family preparedness toolkits.

Let’s do everything we can to protect the well-being of our neighbors, children & families.
