The Children’s Partnership is a team of smart, forward-thinking, collaborative advocates committed to child health equity. We are looking for individuals with diverse backgrounds and expertise who are dedicated to making a difference in the lives of marginalized children in California and across the nation.

We’re Hiring: Vice President of Culture, People and Operations
Are you a systems thinker with a heart for people and a head for strategy? Do you believe that real organizational health comes from a culture of trust, transparency, and care – backed up by solid systems, transparent decision-making and strong financial processes? If so, we want you on our team.
At The Children’s Partnership (TCP), we’re a California-based advocacy organization working to advance child health equity through bold policy, innovative research, and authentic community engagement. We believe that all children deserve a fair shot at a healthy, bright future—and we’re looking for a Vice President of Culture, People and Operations who’s ready to help us make it happen.
Here’s what the role is all about:
You’ll be the heartbeat of TCP’s internal operations, ensuring our people, processes, and resources are aligned for impact. You’ll champion an inclusive, equitable culture where staff feel seen, heard, and supported, and you’ll build the kind of infrastructure that helps big ideas take flight. As VP, you’ll lead HR, finance, technology, and administration with a steady hand and a strategic eye—making sure our systems not only work but work for our people.
This position will focus on working with TCP leadership and staff to create an environment where collaboration thrives, equity is woven into every decision, and everyone has what they need to grow, learn, and do their best work.
We are looking for someone who:
- Balances big-picture vision with sharp problem-solving. You can zoom out to think strategically and zoom in to tackle thorny details—without breaking a sweat.
- Communicates with clarity and heart. Whether you’re breaking down complex info or navigating tricky conversations, you lead with thoughtfulness and kindness—making it easy for others to feel informed, confident, and included.
- Builds trust and brings people together. You know how to create the conditions for teams to thrive—fostering collaboration, sparking growth, and helping people feel seen and supported.
- Leads with humility, honesty, and care. You cultivate a culture of psychological safety where folks aren’t afraid to speak up, make mistakes, or try new things—because they know you’ve got their back.
- Loves a good puzzle. Whether it’s a new system, a messy challenge, or an idea that hasn’t been built yet, you’re energized by creating clarity, structure, and momentum—especially when others might feel overwhelmed.
The Details:
As a member of the senior leadership team, you’ll work closely with the President and VP of Policy & Advocacy to ensure our work is aligned, accountable, and advancing TCP’s mission. While this is primarily a remote position, we are looking for someone in California to be able to attend occasional in person meetings. The salary range is $140,000-$185,000.
